Guardado unsure Soldado will stay at Valencia

Valencia winger Andres Guardado is unsure where Roberto Soldado will be plying his trade next season amidst interest fromTottenham.

The north London club has become increasingly confident it can seal a deal for Soldado, with the player considering submitting a transfer request to speed up his exit from Los Che.

Bernard confirms offers from Shakhtar, Porto and Premier League

Atletico Mineiro star Bernard says he has offers from Shakhtar Donetsk and Porto as well as from Premier League clubs.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with his agent hinting that he would depart after helping the Brazilian side to its first Copa Libertadores title on Wednesday.

“I’ll keep working until the board decides something about the transfer,” the youngster told Sportv. “There are offers from English football, Shakhtar and Porto.”

Elated at his role in the Libertadores triumph, Bernard claims that he would remain at his club for the rest of his life if it were feasible but believes a decision is not in his hands.

“If I could, I would stay here the rest of my life,” Bernard said. “I don’t know what can happen with me but, if I leave, I know I will have done my job.

“I have said a thousand times that I want to stay, but it doesn’t depend on me now.

“I made it clear that, if I stay or not, I wanted to leave here with an important title. It’s up to God to decide if I stay or not, up to God, [Atletico Mineiro’s] presidency and the board.

“I am very happy and I want to celebrate this title, which is one of the most important ones I will have in my life.”

Inter Sell 75 Percent Stake to Erto?

Inter Milan reportedly has officially sold its shares to Indonesian businessman, Erick Thohir, as much as 75 percent.
As reported by the Italian media Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday (9/7) this morning, Inter sold the shares are worth 300 million euro (Rp 3.9 trillion).

Assou-Ekotto: It’s Sad to See FECAFOOT Suspended

Indomitable lions defender, Benoit Assou-Ekotto has told Reuters Cameroon’s suspension from international football by FIFA because of alleged government interference in the country’s football federation will be resolved.

Assou-Ekotto, known for his forthright opinions and social conscience, believes there is more to life than football and said it was important to give back to communities.

Assou-Ekotto is expected in Cameroon on Monday July 8, with a charity that is helping to save the sight of millions. “I want to help people to have a better life,” he said, before heading for a remote village to administer the 250 millionth treatment for river blindness for the international development organisation Sightsavers.

“As footballers we have a chance to do things that can save the life of someone and by this treatment we can help someone to enjoy life. I’d never heard of this treatment before and it will be a fantastic experience for me to go and learn about them.”

The World Health Organisation estimates that 37 million people are infected by river blindness – or onchocerciasis – in Africa with over 300,000 people already blinded by the disease. It is transmitted through the bite of a black fly, which breeds in fast-flowing water.
